943 FNUS54 KMAF 081915 FWFMAF Fire Weather Planning Forecast for West Texas/Southeast New Mexico National Weather Service Midland/Odessa TX 215 PM CDT Sun Jun 8 2025 .DISCUSSION... Elevated to near critical fire weather conditions forecast from Sacramento Foothills into Guadalupes under southwest winds at least 20 miles per hour, min RH below critical in single digits, and warmer than average temperatures. Light east/southeast 20-ft wind less than 20 miles per hour, ERCs below 75th percentile with greenery of vegetation limiting fire spread, and wetting rain chances limit fire weather conditions elsewhere. Cooler than average temperatures and further increased wetting rain chances early to middle part of the week maintain low fire weather conditions, although fire starts from lightning for drier fuels over western higher terrain are still possible. Despite warmer and drier conditions by Thursday into next weekend, fire weather conditions look to remain low at this time. && For point-specific forecasts please see the Point Fire Weather Matrix product issued by the Midland/Odessa National Weather Service Office.
