.DISCUSSION...High pressure will move east of the region today as the
next low pressure system moves into the Mississippi Valley tonight into
Friday. Increasing high clouds are expected today, and this combined
with light southerly flow increasing surface dewpoints will increase
relative humidity values compared to the past few days. In spite of the
upper clouds, a fairly deep mixed layer is expected to develop this
afternoon, although weak flow in the low levels of the atmosphere will
suppress smoke dispersion parameters. A shower or two is possible this
afternoon across southern Kentucky, with much better chances for rain
expected Friday into the weekend.
